UTTAPPAM

Ingredients required

  • Rice - 250 gms
  • Urad dal - 125 gms
  • Chopped onions - 1 cup
  • Chopped green chilly - 2
  • Chopped ginger - 1 tsp
  • Chopped curry leaves - as required
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Grated carrot - 1 cup
  • Oil - as required

      Method to prepare
      1. Soak rice & urad dal for atleast 2 hrs.
      2. Grind  same as dosa batter by adding salt, keep aside for atleast 6 hours or whole night.
      3. This batter you can use for plane dosa also.
      4. Take a bowl add, onion, green chilli, ginger, curry leaves, cumin seeds, carrot, mix, and keep this onion mix aside. 
           Carrot is optional.
      5. Now place tawa on stove and allow to heat.
      6. put some batter on tawa, spread it in circular motion in your comfortable size.Apply 1 tsp oil on dosa.
      7. Now take onion mix and spread over the dosa and press with spoon and fry for 1 minute in medium flame.
      8. Turn other side, apply another tsp of oil, and fry for another minute.
      9. Spicy and tasty uttappam is ready.
    10. Serve with any pickle or coconut powder.
