UGGANI/ MURMURA UPMA

Ingredients required
  • Murmura (puffed rice) - 250 gms
  • Chopped onion - ½ cup
  • Sliced green chilly - 3
  • Chana dal - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
  • Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
  • Red chilly - 1
  • Curry leaves - as required
  • Fried chana(putana) powder - 4 tsp
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 4 tsp



      Method to prepare
      1. Soak murmura in water for 5 minutes.
      2. Squeeze water from murmura and keep aside.
      3. Take a pan, add oil and allow to heat.
      4. Add chana dal, urad dal, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and fry for 1 min in medium flame.
      5. Add onions, green chilly, and fry for 2 minutes by adding  red chilly and curry leaves.
      6. Add wet murmura to it and cook for one more minute.
      7. Add salt, fried chana powder, mix well, close the lid.
      8. Cook for three minutes in low flame and switch off the flame.
      9. Softy and tasty uggani is ready. Serve hot with mirchi bajji, it's the best combination.
