BEETROOT CURRY

Ingredients required
  • Beetroot - 250 gms
  • Oil - 3 tsp
  • Chopped onion - 1 cup
  • Sliced green chilly - 2
  • Chopped tomato - 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste -  ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  • Salt - ¾ tsp
  • Red chilly powder - ½ tsp
  • Dry coconut powder - 3 tsp
  • Curry leaves - as required
  • Coriander leaves - as required
      Masala ingredients
  • Coriander seeds - ½ tsp
  • Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cinnamon stick small - 1
      Method to prepare
      1.  Dry roast all masala ingredients, powder them and keep this masala powder aside.
      2. Take pressure cooker, add oil and allow to heat.
      3. Add chopped onion, green chilly, curry leaves, fry for 3 minutes in medium flame.
      4. Now, add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt and fry for another 3 minutes in low flame.
      5. Then add chopped tomato, cubed beetroot, red chilly powder and cook for 2 minutes in low flame
      6. Add prepared masala powder, coconut powder, sufficient water, close the lid and cook until 3 whistles.
      7. Add coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
      8. Spicy and tasty beetroot curry is ready. Serve it with  rice or roti.
