- All purpose flour (maida) - 2 cups
- Fried chana (putana) - 1½ cup
- Dry coconut powder - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Cardamom powder - ½ tsp
- Oil - to fry
- Kajjikayalu maker
Method to prepare
1. Powdered the fried chana, sugar and keep in a bowl. Add dry coconut powder, cardamom powder, mix well and keep this
stuffing powder aside.
2. Take another bowl, add maida. By adding water, make as a roti dough. Add 1 tsp of oil and mix well.
3. Make this dough into small balls and keep aside.
4. Take these dough balls, roll in the shape of circles and keep these pooris aside.
5. Now, take kajjikayalu maker, apply 2 drops of oil to the edges.
6. Now, take pressed poori, place it on the maker, add 1½ tsp of prepared stuffed powder at the middle of the poori
(as shown in the figure), apply 2 drops of water to the edges and close it.
7. Do the same procedure for the rest.
8. Take a kadai, pour oil and allow to heat.
9. Put these raw kajjikayalu in the oil one after one and fry both sides in medium flame until they get golden brown in color.
10. Yummy & Tasty kajjikayalu are ready.
