ALU BAJJI

Ingredients required
  • Potato - 2
  • Gram flour(besan) - 2 cups
  • Salt - ½ tsp
  • Red chilly powder - ½ tsp
  • Cooking soda - pinch
  • Cumin powder - ½ tsp
  • Oil - to fry







     
      

      Method to prepare
      1. Clean the potatoes, peal off, slice in the shape of circle and keep aside.
      2. Take a bowl, add besan, salt, red chilly powder, cumin(jeera)powder, cooking soda, mix well.
      3. Add sufficient water to above mixture and make a thick batter.(consistency of the batter should be thicker than dosa batter)
      4. Take a kadai, pour oil and allow to heat.
      5. Now take potato slices one by one, dip in the prepared batter, take out and put into the oil. 
      6. Fry on both sides for 4 minutes in medium flame.
      7. When they change into nice yellowish golden color, take out.
      8. Spongy alu bajjis are ready. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
