PARAMANNAM/ RICE KHEER

Ingredients required
  • Rice - 2 cups gm
  • Milk - 500 ml
  • Jaggery - 200 gm
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Dry coconut powder - 2 tsp
  • Cashew nut powder - 1 tsp
  • Cashew nuts - 10
  • Raisins - 10
  • Cardamom powder - ¼ tsp
  • Ghee - ½ cup


      Method to prepare
      1. Cook the rice by adding 3 cups of water.
      2. Add milk to the cooked rice.
      3. Grate the jaggery, add to the rice, mix well.
      4. Then add, coconut powder, cashew nut powder, sugar and cook for 3 minutes in low flame.
      5. Fry the cashew nuts, raisins in 2 tsp of ghee and add to the rice.
      6. Add rest of the ghee, cardamom powder cook for another 2 minutes in low flame and switch of the stove.
      7. Festival special paramannam is ready.
