RAJMA CURRY/KIDNEY BEAN CURRY

Ingredients required

  • Rajma - 2 cups
  • Oil - 4 tsp
  • Chopped onion - 1 cup
  • Sliced green chilly - 2
  • Chopped tomato - ½ cup
  • Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
  • Salt - ¾ tsp
  • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  • Red chilly powder - ½ tsp
  • Amchoor powder - ¼ tsp
  • Curry leaves - as required
  • Coriander leaves - as required

Masala ingredients
  • Coriander seeds - ½ tsp
  • Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
  • Black pepper -  ¼ tsp
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cinnamon stick - 1
     Method to prepare
      1. Cook rajma and keep aside.
      2. Powder the masala ingredients and keep this masala powder aside.
      3. Take a kadai, add oil and allow to heat.     
      4. Add chopped onion, green chilly, curry leaves, fry for 2 minutes in medium flame.
      5. Now add tomato, close the lid and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
      6. Add turmeric powder, salt, red chilly powder, prepared masala powder, mix well.
      7. Then add cooked rajma, sufficient water, close the lid, cook for 10 minutes in low flame.
      8. Add coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
      9. Hot & spicy rajma curry is ready. Serve with rice or roti.
