- Fish pieces - 500 gms
- Chopped onion - 1 cup
- Sliced green chilly - 2
- Chopped tomato - 1 cup
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves - as required
- Curry leaves - as required
- Oil - 6 tsp
Masala ingredients
- Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
- Cumin(jeera)seeds - ½ tsp
- Black pepper - ¼ tsp
- Cloves - 3
- Cinnamon stick - 1
Method to prepare
1. Take a pan, allow to heat. Roast all masala ingredients for 3 minutes in low flame and make a fine masala powder.
2. Now take a kadai, add 6 tsp of oil. Add onion, green chilly, fry for 3 minutes in medium flame.
3. Then add ginger garlic paste and fry another 3 minutes.
4. Add tomato and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add turmeric powder, salt, red chilly powder and fry for 2 minutes.
5. Add fish pieces and fry for 3 minutes in medium flame.
6. Now add prepared masala powder, mix well, fry for 4 minutes.
7. Add 1 cup of water, close the lid, cook for 10 minutes in medium flame.
8. Then add coriander leaves and cook for 2 to 3 minutes in medium flame and switch off the flame.
9. Spicy chepala iguru is ready. Serve it hot with rice.
