PUFF PASTRY/ PUFFSHEETS

Ingredients required

  • All purpose flour - 125 gms
  • Butter - 125 gms
  • Vinegar - 1½ tsp
  • Water - approximately 50 to 60 ml
  • Salt - ¼ tsp








      Method to prepare
      1. Take a bowl, add flour, salt, vinegar, 25 gms of melted butter, water and knead thoroughly for atleast 5 to 7 minutes.
      2. Refridgerate rest of butter, take out, mash with any ladle(donot use your palms in the preparation of puff sheets) and make 
           into the shape of square using your fingers.
      3. Take the dough, spread the edges with the help of the roll stick, so that centre of the dough should be thicker.
          (same as we do for paratha) 
      4. Keep square shaped butter at the centre and close from all four sides.

STEP1:- Press gently in rectangular shape.
STEP2:- Fold right side corner sheet to left side.
STEP3:- Fold left side corner sheet to right side on top of  folded sheet.
                                                                                                                   

      5. Place this folded sheet on any plane surface plate and keep this in fridge for 10 minutes.
      6. Take out and roll this in rectangular shape as STEP 1.
      7. Do same as STEP 2, STEP 3 and keep in fridge for another 10 minutes.
      8. Do the same procedure for another 4 times.
      9. Now take the folded sheet from fridge and roll it gently in big rectangular shape.
    10. Cut thin sheet into rectangular/circle/square shaped pieces, store in a air tight container and refridgerate them.
    11. Puff pastries are ready. Bake and Use for curry puffs or egg puffs or plain puffs.
