TOMATO CHUTNEY

Ingredients required
  • Tomato - 250 gm
  • Green chilly - 12
  • Tamarind paste - 1 tsp
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  • Curry leaves - as required
  • Red chilly - 1
  • Asafoetida(hing) - ¼ tsp
  • Chana dal - ½ tsp
  • Urad dal - ½ tsp
  • (Jeera)cumin seeds - ½ tsp
  • Mustard seeds(rai) - ¼ tsp
  • Oil - as required


      Method to prepare
      1. Take a pan, add 3 tsp of oil and allow to heat.
      2. Add green chilly, tomato, tamarind paste, turmeric powder,salt and fry until tomatoes are cook well.
      3. Let it cool and half grind it to make a paste.
      4. For tempering, take a pan, add 3 tsp of oil and allow to heat.
      5. Add chana dal, urad dal, fry for 2 minutes in low flame and add jeera, mustard seeds, curry leaves, red chilly, hing and
           fry for 1 minute in low flame.
      6. Switch off the flame and add to the tomato paste. Mix well.
      7. Spicy and tasty tomato chutney is ready.
