CHANA RICE

Ingredients required


  • Black Chana - ¾ cup
  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Tomato - 3 
  • Grated coconut - 4 tsp
  • Red chilly - 6
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp 
  • Onion - 2 
  • Cloves - 2 
  • Cinnamon stick - 2 
  • Bay leaves - 2 
  • Salt - 1 ½ tsp
  • Water - 4 cups



      Method to prepare
      1. Grind tomato, coconut, onion, red chilly, ginger garlic paste by adding little water and keep this masala paste aside.
      2. Half boil chana and keep it aside.
      3. Now allow pressure cooker to heat.
      4. Add oil, cloves, cinnamon stick and bay leaves, let them fry for half a minute.
      5. Add masala paste, fry for 5 minutes in medium flame.
      6. Now add rice, boiled chana, salt to the masala mix and fry for 2 minutes. 
      7. Add water, close the lid and cook for another 5 minutes.
      8. Mouthwatering chana rice is ready, serve hot.
