GUNTA PONGANALU/PUNUGULU

Ingredients required           



  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Urad dal - 1 cup
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Jeera(cumin seeds) - 1 tsp
  • Chopped Onion - 1 cup
  • Chopped green chilly - 2
  • Curry leaves - as required
  • Oil - 4 tsp
  • Gunta punugulu maker                                                    




      Method to prepare
      1. Soak Urad dal, rice in water for 6 hours.
      2. Grind them like 'dosa' batter.
      3. Add salt and keep aside for at least 6 hours.
      4. After fermentation, add onion, green chilly, cumin seeds, curry leaves and stir it well.
      5. Take gunta ponganalu maker, add one drop oil in each slot and allow to heat.
      6. Pour spoonful of batter in each slot.
      7. Fill the slot upto ¾ of its capacity.
      8. Close the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
      9. Turn other side with the help of fork and again cook for another 2 minutes.
      10. Crispy gunta ponganalu is ready to eat.
      11. Serve it with spicy coconut powder.
      12. Have a nice breakfast.
