TOMATO RICE

Ingredients required

  • Chopped Tomato - 2 cups
  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Water - 3 ½ cups
  • Chopped Onion - ½ cup
  • Green chilly - 3
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cinnamon stick - 2
  • Cashew nuts - 10
  • Cumin seeds(Jeera) - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - as required
  • Coriander leaves - as required
  • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  • Salt - ½ tsp
  • Oil - 3 tsp
  • Ghee - 1 tsp
       Method to prepare
      1. Soak rice in water for 30 minutes.
      2. Take pressure cooker allow to heat, add 3 tsp oil.
      3. Add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick, cashew nuts, curry leaves and fry.
      4. Add onion, green chilly, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt and fry for 2 minutes.
      5. Add chopped tomatoes, close the lid.
      6. After they cook well, add rice and fry for 1 minute in medium flame.
      7. Add water. When it starts boiling, add ghee, coriander leaves and close the lid.
      8. After 2 whistles, switch off the stove.
      9. Delicious Tomato rice is ready, serve it hot.
