SEMIYA UPMA

Ingredients required
  • Vermicelli(semiya) - 2 cups
  • Chopped onion - ½ cup
  • Chopped green chilly - 2
  • Red chilly - 1
  • Curry leaves - as required
  • Coriander leaves - as required
  • Chopped alu - ½ cup
  • Chana dal - ½ tsp
  • Urad dal - ½ tsp
  • Cumin seeds - ¼ tsp
  • Mustard seeds - ¼ tsp
  • Cashew nuts - 10
  • Salt - ½ tsp
  • Oil - 4 tsp
  • Water - 2 cups


      Method to prepare
      1. Roast vermicelli and keep aside.
      2.Take a pan, add oil and allow to heat.
      3. Add chana dal, urad dal, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, red chilly, curry leaves and fry for 1 minute in medium flame.
      4. Add cashew nuts, onion, green chilly, fry for 1 minute and add alu, salt, close the lid.
      5. After 2 minutes add roasted vermicelli, and fry.
      6. Take 2 cups of water in a seperate bowl and boil.
      7. Pour this boil water to the above mixture, add coriander leaves, mix well and cook in low flame without closing the lid 
          until water gets evaporated.
      8. Tastiest tiffin semiya upma is ready.
