TOMATO RASAM (CHARU)

Showing a little interest in preparation of rasam, makes your lunch awesome.

Ingredients required
  • Tomato - 2
  • Tamarind paste - 1 tsp
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds(Jeera) - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds(Rai) - ½ tsp
  • Toor dal - ½ tsp
  • Coriander seeds - ½ tsp
  • Black pepper - ¼ tsp
  • Red chilly - 1
  • Garlic - 4
  • Curry leaves - as required
  • Coriander leaves - as required
  • Hing(Asafoetida) - 2 pinch
  • Turmeric - ¼ tsp
  • Salt - as required
      Method to prepare
      1. Take a bowl, add water, tomatoes and boil for 5 minutes
      2. Mash it, add water and takeout the pulp.
      3. Now, take a pan add toor dal, coriander seeds, black pepper, jeera roast for 1 minute and make fine powder.
      4. Add this powder, tamarind paste to the tomato water.
      5. For tampering, place a pan heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilly, curry leaves, chopped garlic, hing and 
          fry for 1 minute and add to tomato water, place it on the stove and boil for 5 minutes.
      6. Add coriander leaves and switch off the stove.
      7. Tremendous tomato rasam is ready and serve with rice.
